The club sent a sixes team to Inverness on Saturday 14th January to take part in some invitational sixes to mark former Camanachd Leòdhais player Eòghan ”BGT” Stewart’s 40th birthday.

Eòghan was a key member of the club for many years, involved in setting up the senior team in 2006 and negotiating league entry in 2011. Having taken up shinty with Glasgow University, and having played for Aberdour and Skye Camanachd as well as the Dubh is Gorm, he now plays for Strathglass.

Other teams involved in the tournament were Lochcarron with a couple of Kinlochshiel cameos, the legendary Stromeferry No-Ferry United run by James MacRae, Strathglass, Eòghan’s own All-star select and an Inverness Royal Academy Former Pupils team. Lochcarron would beat the Allstars in the final 1-0 and received the Maclean Cup.

It was a very competitive tournament but a squad with Paul, Sean, Ginger, Gaga, Gomez, Donnie and Daniel scoring some goals, renewing friendships and having a great day. Thanks to Eoghan for the invite and we look forward to seeing him and others on the park this season.
