Whilst it has been an historic couple of months for the club, and this will be covered in other posts, it is time to note the passing, within weeks of each other, of Eleanor and Neil Stamper, parents of club legend Calum Stamper.

Calum, known to all as Stompy, has an iconic place in the club’s folklore thanks to his opening goal in our debut league match, and his commitment to the club in its early years was vital to its survival. Stompy and his family moved to Lewis in the late 1990s and got involved with shinty through Boyd MacKenzie. He recently found photos his father Neil took of these sessions. Sadly others were damaged but the following photos are a great snapshot of the early shinty revival in Back.

Everyone at the club has Stompy and his family in their hearts.
