We look forward to our friends Caberfeidh coming over Saturday, throwing up at Shawbost at 2.30pm this Saturday 9th June – games with the Strathpeffer mob are always tough and hard-fought whilst also highly entertaining for the spectator, but the Cabers folk love to stay for a good party and get the craic afterwards. Fiona and the boys always have a nice word to say about the hospitality they receive in the Hebrides but hopefully we won’t be too hospitable on the park this time. Come along and support the lads.

Sadly we succumbed to Kilmallie 5-0 last weekend but in spells in the second half we competed well after giving them 3 goals a head start after 15 minutes. Photos as always by Coinneach.

Also we’d like to announce that there will be a Shinty Challenge Match on Tuesday 26th. June, Sir E. Scott v. The Nicolson Institute at the Battery Park, Tarbert.‏ There will also be coaching for both sides in the morning and the game should start at 1 o clock (TBC).

The previous game last year in the autumn was excellent as was the Harris performance in the Berneray Causeway Shield soon after. Eòghan will also be coaching shinty at Fèis na Hearadh again this year from 2-6 July in Tarbert, continuing a long tradition of supporting the sport in Tir nam Beann. It would be great to see more young Hearaich involved in the senior Lewis set-up and hopefully we can move to a fully-fledged youth league setup at primary and secondary level in 2012-2013 encompassing Lewis and Harris.
