Camanachd Leòdhais is happy to name its management team for the 2026 season. For the first time since 2010, which was the last season before league entry, the club will have co-managers in Connor Chalmers and Donnie MacRae.

Connor Chalmers comes from Steinis but is of an Uig family with a lot of shinty connections. He has come through training with Boyd MacKenzie and at Stornoway Primary through various positions from some of the early league seasons to now be our settled goalkeeper. He was our 2025 double player of the year and also an iron man ever-present.

Donnie MacRae has had a seismic effect for the club since he signed in 2022. Having learned his shinty at Canal Parks in Kilmallie (where Connor made his senior debut in 2012) and then playing for Aberdeen University, Donnie is already well on his way to being a club legend and club top scorer with a record of a goal a game so far. The canny Hearach is a renowned footballer as well as being a multiple player of the year in both sports. He was named in the 2025 Mowi North Divisions Team of the Year.

The club looks forward to a successful season under this young management team and hope that both islands get behind them home and away when shinty returns in March.
