Youth Shinty

There is a multitude of opportunities to get involved in shinty from a young age in Lewis and Harris. Contact youth co-ordinator Conor MacDonald for more info.
Youth Training
At present, there is no dedicated youth training at the weekend, but this should change in the near future. All players who are over 14 are expected to train with the first team as often as possible.
Nicolson Institute
Training is held at the Stornoway Primary pitch during school terms at 4.00 PM on Fridays. Everyone is welcome. Speak to Mr Sinclair (History) for more info and bus passes.
Mr Nally (French) sometimes assists with the youths. Mr Nally has a special interest in fitness and was involved in the GAA in Glasgow for many years.
Rural Schools
Mr Nally runs shinty at Lional and Shawbost Schools.
Primary Schools
Primary School Training is on Wednesdays at Stornoway Primary School.
Sir E Scott School
Shinty has been part of Feis na Hearadh for many years now but is now becoming an activity at the School and Sir E Scott/Harris now has its own team. Speak to Stuart Morrison or Mr Johnson for more info.
Bereneray Causeway Shield
A Six-A-Side Competition for Island Clubs held in Tarbert, first played for in 2011.

Mid Minch Medal
Camanachd Leodhais host the Mid Minch Medal Tournament. So far this tournament has consisted of Leodhas, Uist and Kinlochbervie and has been played on a round-robin basis. Thanks go to Mr Iain Sinclair for all his hardwork in organising this tournament from pitch to medals.
