Boleskine, Saturday, 2.30pm, Shawbost and U-14s to Scourie.

Seems like a slight hiatus with bad weather disrupting training and Strathglass not travelling for last Saturday’s game, although we did receive the points which lifts us up the table, but June July and August should be non stop shinty.

This Saturday the first team welcome Boleskine to Shawbost, the Inverness-shire club have always given us a tough game and the lads will have to be at their very best to cause an upset against this promotion seeking side. We played them in the league opener and suffered a disappointing 5-0 loss.

We are also very happy that we have an Under 14 squad travelling to the Far North Sixes in Scourie. We have been unable to attend since the Lewis B side swept the competition in 2010, more of which can be read at this link http://www.camanachdleodhais.com/klb-sixes-lewis-storm-mainland/. This will be a great opportunity for all the keen youngsters who have been attedning Saturday trainign and sessions at the Nicolson.

Hopefully on Saturday we can celebrate a double success but we will certainly be celebrating just playing shinty after a long break.

Throw-up 2.30pm at Shawbost.

Lewis 3 – Caberfeidh 4

An ultimately disappointing defeat for Lewis in our homecoming match, we started with a Duncan MacIntyre goal but went into half time two one down. Will replied with a cracking leveller and things looked promising but two messy goals gave Cabers a two goal cushion. Although Michael scored from a shy, it was a second successive 4-3 defeat for the Dubh is Gorm. Next home game is against Strathglass in a fortnight.

After Saturday’s game, the topscorer chart reads:

Will Church 7

Duncan MacIntyre 3

Seumas Charity, Paul Duke, Scott Murray, Michael MacLeod 1

On another note, attendance at training has been poor of late, please ensure you attend 6.30pm, Tuesday and Thursdays.

After the disappointment of our away game against Inverness being postponed due to bad weather, we look forward to welcoming our Ross-shire rivals Caberfeidh for 2013’s first fixture at Sgoil Shiaboist.

Throwup is scheduled at 2.30pm and we will also be giving our youngsters an opportunity to show their skills in a match before the big game.

Get along and support the Dubh is Gorm.
